The Certificate of Origin is the document that certifies the origin of the goods being sold between countries that maintain Trade Agreements, with the aim of granting a reduction or exemption from import tax, guaranteeing preferential access of goods to the foreign market.
Documents required for issuance
- Filled certificate of legal provenance form;
- Commercial Invoice;
- Producer Declaration.
The documents must be signed by the person responsible for the company or with a power of attorney.

With the aim of modernizing and innovating the issuance system, CIN provides exporting companies with the Digital certificate of legal provenance - COD BRASIL, with authorization, recognition and credibility from the Latin American Integration Association - ALADI, guaranteeing security and legitimacy of the process.
Certificates of Origin destined for Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay must only be issued digitally through COD, and certificates for Paraguay also have the option of being issued digitally. In this sense, the tendency is for more and more countries to adhere to this format of electronic issuance of the certificate of legal provenance.
